Last week I walked into the women’s locker room at my gym, greeted by the shocked, abashed face of a woman in a sports bra and leggings taking a selfie in the mirror. And… Selfie Session: Terminated. I cannot even express to you how upsetting it was to me that she felt it necessary to stop what she was doing simply because there was another female around to see it. Wait, let me get this straight…. First we feel uncomfortable with our bodies so we do something about it (power to you!) and then we have to feel uncomfortable about feeling good about our bodies?! Oh girl, no. Not today. And please, for the love of all that is good, certainly not because of me. I wanted to tell her she looks amazing, but could not figure out how to do that without adding to her quite obvious discomfort by acknowledging that I saw her feeling proud of herself. How. Sad. Is. That?
Ladies, help me out here… This cannot be a thing. And this is exactly why I am SO VERY PLEASED to introduce our incredible October Fierce Female, Kayleigh Adams of HW Photography, and more specifically, Undressed by HW. This powerhouse of an inspired woman, while overcoming her own obstacles, has made a name for herself empowering other women to be fearlessly and unabashedly themselves even when, dare I say, UNDRESSED.

My name is Kayleigh Adams from Whitman MA. I have a truly amazing and supportive husband, three beautiful boys, due in two months with a baby girl and of course can’t forget the two dogs. Last year, my husband built me my very own studio in the backyard! When I first started photographing, my main focus was on families and newborn photo shoots. I did truly enjoy capturing those moments but I always felt like something was missing. Every time my camera hit my hands, I had a vision of empowerment and to empower every female around me. Boudoir Photography has always been the end goal for me and last year is when I took the leap and I now know where I belong. Undressed by HW Photography was born and it is a decision I am grateful for every single day.
I don’t photograph boudoir just for ladies to give their significant others beautiful glamorous images, that’s a bonus but not the main reason. I photograph boudoir to empower and embrace one's self love. To show women how beautiful, sexy and glamorous they are, just the way they are. I know first hand how being a woman and mother we tend to put our own self care on the back burner and my mission during each session is to honor each client. It is a way for ladies to celebrate themselves. I want those same women to feel how sexy, glamorous and beautiful they are, that we are so much more than what the mirror shows us.
During a session when I see my client start to see their beauty and almost cry at the sight of their images, this is a reason I do this. When they leave their session standing taller, with confidence and love for themselves, this is a reason I do this. I just assist them and show them they had it all along. Every woman should have a boudoir experience, it is life changing and it is a form of therapy.
